Working in the kitchen at camp is a fun and satisfying job. This position requires you to be committed for the entire summer to assist the Head Cooks in all jobs related to meal preparation and clean up. It includes food preparation, setting tables, washing dishes, cleaning the dining hall and kitchen, organizing the ice cream in the Tuck Shop, and being willing and available for other jobs at camp when required.
We are looking for a team of people who are willing to do a little of everything around the campground! The job requires flexibility and a commitment to serve for the entire summer. The maintenance team attends to the upkeep of the camp, cleaning of the washrooms, collection of garbage, repairs of broken items, grass mowing and other general maintenance tasks as required by the maintenance supervisor.
Our waterfront team takes care of all swimming and boating related activities. There is never a dull moment! Certification in CPR and First Aid are mandatory for our lifeguards. This position requires you to be committed for the entire summer. Experience in a pool or lake setting is essential. National Lifeguard Certification with the Lifesaving Society is desired. Those with Bronze Cross may be considered for support roles and are able to gain experience for future summer work.
We are looking for someone friendly, with excellent customer service skills, who is able to assist in running the Mishewah office. Duties will include checking-in campers, responding to customer questions, answering phone calls, taking payments, receiving deliveries, working on various word processing and spreadsheet tasks, sending and responding to emails, file organization, and other office duties. A proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is an asset.
The program coordinator will be assisting with the administration of the activities that will run at family camps and youth camps. They will be responsible for helping to develop effective programs, overseeing activities and details, and measuring overall success. Their duties will consist of managing various administrative tasks, tracking the budget, and ensuring that the program meets the goals set out by the camp directors. They will work alongside the ministry leaders of each area and be sure that they understand the policies and procedures in place to create a safe environment for children and youth. This includes making sure attendance records are being kept, protection plan policies are being followed and ensuring positive and productive communication. They will keep track of supplies and work with office staff to be sure tasks are completed in a timely manner. They will be learning client services, communication skills, and they will gain valuable experience working on a team. They will gain digital skills and they will learn excellent leadership skills as they practice delegating and completing tasks alongside other employees.
