Happy Canada Day from Camp Mishewah!

It’s been a uniquely rural Canadian way to celebrate today! Last night’s storm knocked out our power around 6:00 p.m., and along with many of our neighbours, we waited until 2:00 pm for it to come back.

Thankfully, camp life carries on! When the power goes out, generators keep our water purification system, fridges, and freezers running, our gas stoves mean the kitchen team can still serve up great meals, and the only real change is that dishes get done the old-fashioned way… by hand, and in the dark!

Days like this remind us how important investments in camp infrastructure really are. Those generators, and so many other improvements around camp, are possible because of the incredible generosity of our donors.
